Rupert Boyd has worked in the financial services sector for 30 years. For 25 of those he worked for Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and Standard Bank group with responsibilities in Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Equity and Derivatives before moving to Investment Banking and Advisory. In addition to building Fixed Income, Equity Derivative and Foreign Exchange operations across Africa, Rupert has spent much of the last decade advising governments, corporations and financial institutions on doing business across the continent. In 2012 he co founded African Alpha Investment Partners and sits on the boards of a number of African focused companies. In particular, Rupert has extensive contacts across the global investment community.
Brad Koen has over 25 years experience in emerging markets, in particular Africa. Brad spent the majority of his career as Global Head of Global Markets covering Fixed Income, Currencies, Commodities and Equities, for Africa’s largest bank, Standard Bank, initially in Johannesburg followed by a 10 year stint in London. In this role, Brad was responsible for building Standard Bank’s global businesses in Sales and Trading, Debt Capital Markets and Securitization, across a footprint of 30 countries including 17 in Africa. Brad then went on to build the Bank’s sector coverage teams in Mining & Metals, Power & Infrastructure, Telecoms and Media and Financial Institutions as part of a strategic initiative to move Standard Bank from a product centric to a client centric model before leaving in late 2011 to co-found African Alpha Investment Partners.
